Sam is an information studies PhD candidate and teaching assistant at the University of Maryland, College Park. He studies the social effects of surveillance technology, and often writes book reviews on science and technology studies. At Library Futures, Sam wants to explore relationships between scholar-led publishing and information accessibility. He previously worked in academic publishing and received an MSc in media studies from the London School of Economics. He lives in DC and bikes around the Anacostia River often—he’s planning to tackle the C&O canal trail this summer.
